Agent Destiny Slot Review
Released in May 2020, this game can be played at online casinos such as Rizk, Unibet or LeoVegas.
Theme and general information
Whilst the secret agent theme is nothing new for Play’n GO, it’s not a theme that we encounter frequently. Interestingly, the closest competitor is their own Mission Cash slot.
With Agent Destiny we travel right back to the 60s, during the height of the cold war were spies and agents from all sides were at each other. What’s more, Play’n GO went with a totally different route in this game, presenting us comic book style graphics that are really cool. Of course, this is not a comic book for children but one for adults. The stylised graphics are very well done and suit the theme perfectly.
The soundtrack promises action and the fast pace of the reels spinning highlights that as well.
The low value symbols are playing card symbols from J to A that also get the comic book look, crossed with a few wires to make the appear more technical, fitting for the Agent theme.
The high values are several characters that you might expect to see in a 60s spy movie, including Agent Green, Agent Blue, a sinister scientist and Agent Destiny herself as the highest paying symbol. She’s worth 15x ours take for 5 on a payline.
We get two different wilds in the game, the wild scatter on reels 1, 3 and 5 and the safe wild that pays 60x our stake for 5 on a payline.
You can play this game from 0.10 to 100.00 per spin.
Linked Reels and Mega Symbols
One feature the game makes use of are Mega Symbols. All characters can appear as Mega Symbols, which range from 2×2 to 5×3 in size. Stacks of the same symbol on adjacent reels will merge to form an even bigger Mega Symbol, though the maximum is obviously 5×3.
The Linked Reels, which can be triggered randomly on any base game spin, will link reel 4 and 5 or 3, 4 and 5 together. We also get a free re-spin, during which identical symbols move right to left and more identical symbols landing on the right-hand side.
Free Spins with more of the same
Three wild scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 will trigger 9 free spins. Now the Linked Reels are active on each spin, moving across the reel in exactly the same pattern as before. As such, Linked Reels start out on the right-hand side and matching symbol move to the left with the hope of more matching symbols landing on the right.
Again, Mega Symbols can land during the free spins and add to the potential of big wins. Finally, if a wild scatter lands now, it will add +1 free spin each time.
Verdict: A cool slot with solid feature and fast-paced fun
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) of Agent Destiny is a solid 96.22%, though remember that casinos may lower this depending on their gambling jurisdiction. Of course, Agent Destiny comes with Play’n GO’s maximum volatility, so careful budgeting is advised. Especially since this slot can be quite fast paced and with the volatility being what it is, you may see your funds drained all too soon.
And that would be a shame because Agent Destiny is quite fun. The slot looks cool and is a departure from the epic themes Play’n GO often goes with. Instead, the theme is almost understated but very well done here. And the features hit often enough to keep us entertained. However, if you don’t trigger the free spins during the first 200 spins, it may not be your lucky day and you should move on. Otherwise have fun and get into the Agent-mode with a shaken (or stirred) Martini and a bet at the Roulette table.
